Chevron patterns seem tailor-made for handpainted yarns because they help jumble up the colors with their sharp diagonal lines. Instead of pairing increases and decreases in the same round, Jody Pirrello uses short rows to set up some mega-chevrons. The deep zigzags in these socks allow for longer rows and thus avoid pooling.
