Catlett Shawl Knitting Pattern

Inspired by the graceful architecture of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Catlett Shawl is an elongated crescent that juxtaposes textured lace with smooth stockinette and garter stitch. The combination of stitches creates a modern interpretation of the bridge's classic outline.Finished Size: 70" wide and 18" deep.
Yarn: Green Mountain Spinnery Mewesic (100% fine American wool; 180 yd [165 m]/ 2 oz [57 g]): Atlantis, 3 skeins.
Needles: Size 6 (4 mm) and 8 (5 mm): 32" circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Tapestry needle; one size 10½ (6.5 mm) needle for BO; blocking pins.
Gauge: 14 sts and 23 rows = 4" in garter st on larger needle, after blocking; 18 sts and 32 rows = 4" in garter st on larger needle, unblocked.
