This vintage-style gown is knitted in the round in lightweight natural cotton, starting at the bottom with a lace pattern. Decreases are worked gradually after the Gathered Stitch row up to the bodice. The bodice is knitted in a Broken-rib pattern, and the sleeves are worked in a textured Dot stitch. The neck opening is at the back.
Finished Size: Gown, 17 inches (43.2 cm) chest circumference, 12 inches (30.5 cm) length
Yarn: Cascade Yarns Ultra Pima Fine, 100% cotton yarn, sport weight, 136½ yards (124.8 m)/50 gram (1.8 oz) skein, 3 skeins of #3718 Natural
Needles: Needles, circular, 24 inches (60 cm) and double pointed, sizes 2 (2.75 mm) and 1 (2.25 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
Notions: Stitch markers, Tapestry needle, Buttons, 3 small, for gown, Crochet hook, size E/4 (3.5 mm), for bonnet
Gauge: Gown, 7 sts and 9 rows = 1 inch (2.5 cm) in St st on larger needle
