- Quick project with pretty details
- I have completed most of this project and am at the point where I am picking up stitches for the front/neck band. I used the yarn and needles recommended, and I knit somewhat tight. My sweater has little drape. The cardigan is not designed to close (or even meet) in front. The construction makes it slide off of the wearer's shoulders, which was a concern I had when I started. Still, it was so pretty I wanted to try it! To avoid slippage, I may modify the front band to be wider than what the pattern calls for, going for a shawl collar and including some sort of closure. I do, however, prefer the simple look of the existing pattern. If I use this pattern again, I will modify the front panels to make them wider ... and maybe put in a few more leaves, since those are fun to make and look lovely. (Posted on 9/11/2016)
