Amy Clarke Moore became the editor of Spin•Off in the spring of 2000. She earned her BA from Cornell College, Iowa, in 1991 where she studied with bead artist Mimi Holmes. She went on to earn her MFA in Fibers from Colorado State University in 1997 under embroiderer Tom Lundberg. Amy learned to spin while studying for a semester in Costa Rica where she lived with a spinner and weaver in a remote village. She co-wrote Beaded Embellishment: Techniques and Designs for Embroidering on Cloth (2002) with Robin Atkins, and she has contributed to Handspun Treasures from Rare Wools and edited The Spinner's Companion, Spin It!, and Simply Felt (all books from Interweave Press). Her artwork is exhibited by the Hibberd-McGrath Gallery in Breckenridge, Colorado and published in Fiberarts Design Book Seven, 500 Beaded Objects, and Knitting America: A Glorious Heritage from Warm Socks to High Art, as well as in several Interweave Press publications. Amy never leaves home without a spinning, knitting, or beading project in hand. |
