For the first
time, an abundant collection of fabric finishing techniques
is presented in a single book! This invaluable compendium
offers finishing methods for weavers, knitters, sewers, embroiderers,
crocheters, or anyone interested in the textile arts. From
basic to esoteric, simple to elegant, or plain to highly decorative,
these finishes can be applied to most any fabricwoven,
knitted, crocheted, handmade or purchased. Each technique
is clearly presented with text, illustrations, and photographs
of examples created in the technique. In the years ahead,
this book will become your most-prized reference for all of
your finishing needs.
About the author: Naomi K. McEneely
was raised on a farm with lots of siblings and animals. For
most of her life, she has worked with her hands weaving, spinning,
knitting, sewing, crocheting, embroidering, quilting, basketmaking,
and experimenting with ways to finish off her
creations. She learned many of these techniques at her mothers
and grandmothers knees but researched others from cultures
worldwide. Her work has appeared on the cover of Womans
Wear Daily, in the pages of Vogue, and on Good
Morning America, and one of her quilts hangs in the Smithsonian
Institution. She lives outside Chicago with her husband and
four children.
