These unique storage gizmos are the brainchild of Rhoda Cokee, who found herself fighting an endless battle against "kinky" circulars. She knew that hanging them up somehow would "cure the kink," and so started hanging them over slightly open drawers in her home. This proved impractical, as every time she needed something in the drawer, the needles started misbehaving again. After a couple of years of experimentation, she came up with the prototype for what is now her Circular Solutions "case". Encouraged by Meg Swanson to market her solution, Rhoda founded her company, The Circular Solution. Her line now includes a variety of hook and needle storage solutions, as well as other goodies such as a "License to Knit" license plate, a "Port-A-Pocket" project carryall, and a line of hemp yarns. Durable and practical, these "solutions" are ingenious indeed. To quote Rhoda: "Once you have conquered one needle, it is imperative to conquer and tame the rest."

Rhoda's flagship design, The Circular Solution, is a rectangle made out of heavy-duty cotton duck, with a foldover hook-and-loop tape casing at the top which you can attach to a regular clothes hanger. The rectangle is sewn into 16 horizontal "pockets," 14 of which are stamped with needle sizes 1-15 (including millimeter equivalents). The other two pockets, one at top and one at bottom, are unmarked, allowing you to use them as needed. Just slip your circulars into these pockets so that the ends dangle out of each side, and voilá! No more dreaded kinks. This model comes in two colors, natural (with purple trim and lettering) and denim (pink trim and lettering).

  • Dimensions: 25" x 8"
  • Price: $20

Sticks is Rhoda's answer to her loyal customers' desire to have a matching case for their straight needles. It too has a Velcro-style hanger at the top, but it can be used without the hanger as a flat, folding needle case. The inside of the trifold case has two tiers of 15 slots each in varying widths, stamped with needle sizes 0-17 (in both US and metric). The case has a strong cord tie closure, and a large interior flap to help keep your needles safe and organized. Sticks is made of natural cotton duck, with purple lettering and trim.

  • Dimensions: 17" high not including the 2" hanger flap
  • Closed: 6.5" wide
  • Open: 18.75" wide
  • Price: $27

Doublepoints, for double-pointed needles, also hangs anywhere you wish to put it or folds flat in a drawer or on a shelf. Inside, under its full-length protective flap, are three tiers of slots for needles sizes 0-15, stamped in both US and metric sizes. These three tiers mean you can store your longest dpns as well as your shortest glove needles, keeping everything organized and within easy reach. Natural cotton duck with purple printing, trim, and sturdy cord tie closures.

  • Dimensions: 13" high with a one-inch hanger flap
  • Closed: 9.5" wide
  • Open: 28" wide
  • Price: $25

Crochet fanatics need not feel left out! Rhoda has The Hooker, a folding case designed especially for crochet hooks of all sizes. Inside, under a generous inner flap, are two tiers of slots, marked with US sizes 00 to K, with two pockets each for jumbo hooks and cables. In natural cotton duck, with a purple cord closure, this case will protect your hooks and keep them in shipshape order.

  • Closed: 8.75" x 7.25"
  • Open: 8.75" x 14.75"
  • Price: $15
