The Family Place opened as one of the first shelters for victims of family violence in the state of Texas in 1978 and provides emergency shelter and transitional housing for abused women and their children, empowers domestic violence victims to lead nonviolent and independent lives, and educates the community about the nature and extent of domestic violence. Depending on the weight and design, scarves will be given out in the winter to needy families, or gifted to The Family Place program participants for Valentine’s Day 2006.

The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Campaign is designed to increase and advance the national call for heart health awareness among women. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of American women. Cardiovascular diseases, including heart disease and stroke, kill nearly 500,000 women each year. The Go Red For Women Campaign combines style with substance, yet it’s much more than a fashion statement. It’s about educating, informing and empowering women to take charge of their health and to live stronger, healthy, hearty lives.

St. Louis
Lydia’s House works in faith to end domestic violence by being a place of healing and a voice of hope for abused women and their children. Founded in 1995 in St. Louis, Lydia’s House is a non-profit agency and Missouri’s largest provider of transitional housing and comprehensive, goal-oriented support services to abused women and their children.
