Sheer scarf and wrap
: Very delicate and beautifully simple, this sheer scarf and wrap are knitted in Rowan Scottish Tweed 4-Ply and Kidsilk Haze.

Technique: Threading beads

Bobble cushion: Large, classic, and very comforting, this cushion is knitted in Rowan Scottish Tweed Aran, which felts beautifully to produce a soft, deep fabric.

Pleated scarf and corsages: This short, felted scarf with subtle beats knitted into the fabric is intended to be worn over a coat or jacket and fastened with a brooch or with one of the corsages.

Technique: Felted pleats

Beaded scarf
: A thick and warm scarf, this felted knit has the same “bumps” as the “bumps” strip bag and is also beaded.

Daisy bag: Strong, yet also really pretty, this versatile stripy bucket bag in Rowan Scottish Tweed Aran is a generous size.

Leafy place mats and coasters: Subtle and minimalist, these felted place mats are really solid, and thick enough to protect any table from plates and mugs.

“Bump” striped bag: This unusual felted bag is ideal as a knitting or craft-project bag.

Technique: Felted bumps

Rosebud scarf: Bobbles in a toning color are knitted into this scarf, which is then hand-pleated over the bobbles before felting to give a soft but uniform texture.

Ruffled bag: This medium-size bag give you the chance to try out a Shibori weaving technique, using unspun fibers cut into short lengths and woven into the knitted base fabric before felting.

Technique: Woven-in strands

Dots and bars blanket: Rowan’s Scottish Tweed 4-Ply makes the softest knitted felt. You know how pure wool can itch slightly? Well, felting largely takes this away because it changes the actual structure of the wool fibers.

Dots and bars cushion cover: Peppered with large and small knitted-in bobbles and textural felted bars, in a design similar to the blanket, this large cushion cover is just great fun to knit.

Flower bag: Sturdy, yet very pretty, this medium-size bag has small rigid handles and an inner pocket. Inspired by felted and embroidered fabric, it is embroidered with random swirls on one side prior to felting.

Striped scarf: Making this beautifully soft and cozy felted scarf would be a great introduction to the art of knitted felt.

Hearts throw: This throw is knitted in large squares of Rowan Scottish Tweed DK, which makes a lovely soft felt.

Twist scarf: This twirled scarf is highly decorative, with beads down the outside edge highlighting the spiral shape.

Nursery motif hangings: Very easy, very pretty, and great for using up leftover yarns, these little motifs make a perfect project for the first-time felter.

Spiral cushion cover: Make one of the two variations of this cushion cover, and if you like the result, knit the other for a pair.

Hot water bottle cover: The size of this cover fits all sizes of hot water bottles, with the bottle sliding easily inside.

Islands scarf: A piece of art-meets-clothing, this project is a little more adventurous and can be used to practice the different techniques show in this book, because it uses several—beading, “bumps,” woven-in silk, and embroidery.
