Refunds and Exchanges

What is your return and/or exchange policy?
Your satisfaction is our top priority, which is why we’re happy to offer Friction-Free Returns. If, for any reason, you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase of a physical product, you may return it for a full refund, credit or exchange of the product purchase price at any time. It’s that simple! No hoops to jump through and no strings attached!

Digital products, downloads, course offerings, and video purchases are not covered under the Friction-Free Return Policy. However, if the product is defective or you are not satisfied with quality of the item purchased, please do contact us.

What should I do if I have purchased a magazine from a bookstore or other retailer and am not satisfied?
Returns directly to the publisher can only be accepted if the product was purchased directly from the publisher. Any other return should be made directly with the retailer from whom you purchased the product.

Interweave Press does not offer gift certificates at this time. To order gift subscriptions to magazines, visit the Subscriptions page, click on the magazine you would like to give as a gift, and then click the Gift Subscription link.

The product description page for a book that is temporarily out of stock will show an availability date.


Yes, after you submit your order, a confirmation page will display the details of your order. We recommend that you print this page. An electronic confirmation will also be sent to the email address associated with your account.

We accept PayPal and the following debit /credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

If you prefer, we also accept orders by telephone and mail with the exception of electronic product which must be purchased online. Please contact our customer support department. We are available 8a-5p Monday-Friday (MST).


The amount of tax charged depends upon many factors, including the identity of the seller, the type of item purchased, and the destination of the shipment.  Companies selling over the Internet are subject to the same sales tax collection requirements as any other retailers. • eBooks – digital versions of most of our book titles compatible with every major eReader

• Video Downloads – available in both Standard Video and High Definition versions to add detail to techniques and workshops
• eMags- a unique interactive magazine created digitally to incorporate text, video, and illustrations


Digital products have many benefits for you, our customer, for a variety of reasons. Digital products are the quickest way to access Interweave products. You don’t have to wait for it to be shipped because they are transferred to your Interweave Store account and ready for use almost immediately once an item is purchased.
Purchasing digital products can also save you money in two ways. Digital products eliminate shipping costs for individual items purchased. International customers benefit especially by not having to pay costly shipping charges and having the item immediately available. Additionally, some digital products are discounted when compared to physical items in our store as well.

Customers have also commented how much digital products can be a space saver for their homes having access to their magazines, videos, and books without having to use valuable storage and shelf space.It can also be easier to search for a particular article or pattern electronically rather than having to search through page after page of a book or magazine.

When you purchase a downloadable item from our store, you have unlimited access to your purchase and can download it as many times and as often as needed.  To access and save your download please follow these instructions:
1) Go to www.Interweave.com
2) Click on “Sign Up/Sign In” at the top right corner
3) Sign in with your email and password
4) Click “Welcome, (your name)!” in the upper right corner
5) On the left side of the screen click on “My Downloadable Products”
6) Underneath the Product title will be the download link, click the link to view the PDF or Video
7) To save your purchases to your computer please do the following:
*PC Users: Right click on the download link, select “Save Link As” (Firefox, Chrome) or “Save Target As” (Internet Explorer)
*MAC Users: Hold the Ctrl button while clicking on the download link and select the option “Download Linked File As” (Safari)
8) Save the download(s) to your “Desktop,” “My documents” or other favorite folder. Click “Save”

If you are having trouble opening your download, we recommend using the latest version of Adobe Reader for eBooks, digital magazine issues and patterns/projects. Get it here for free:

You will be able to access your digital purchases from your Interweave Store accounts at anytime. You have unlimited access to your digital purchases so you can download it as many times and as often as it is needed.

There are many factors to take into account with estimating download times, such as the connection type, network traffic, and the file size of the individual product that affect download speed.

Here are our average file size for the various Digital Products we offer:

• Digital Magazines by Interweave:  50 – 120 MB
• eBooks:  300 – 750MB
• ePattern or eProject:  65.5 KB – 1.2 MB
• Standard Video Downloads:  900 MB
• High Definition Video Downloads: 3.1 GB
• eMags: 250 – 400 MB

The following table provides estimated download times for different file sizes at typical connection speeds. These estimates assume ideal network conditions. Your actual download time can be longer. For faster downloads, avoid peak hours (9am to 6pm Eastern time). The demand for our downloads can also be high the first week after we release a product release.

Some of our HD video products, typically video files that are about 1 GB or larger, require that you have a broadband Internet connection for download.

Note:  When you order one of our downloads, click on more information and find the file size and estimated download time.  This will help give you an idea of the time it will take to receive your download.

Digital Magazines, eBooks, ePatterns, and eProjects


A Digital Magazine is one of our Interweave publications delivered digitally. Interweave Store has many back issues of your favorite craft magazines available digitally. We even have magazines that are out of print available digitally.

An eBook is simply a book delivered digitally. Overall, our selection of books can be purchased in physical or digital format. However, we do offer a few books that are exclusive eBooks on Interweave Store. You can always search the title of a particular product and see what options are available to you.

Interweave offers select patterns and projects for sale as digital downloads. This means you can purchase a pattern or project and immediately download it to your computer.

Our Digital Magazines, eBooks, ePatterns, eProjects are in the most common PDF format. PDF files are compatible with almost any computer, eReaders, and portable devices.

PDF files will work with most eReader programs available. The one we suggest is Adobe Acrobat Reader which is a well-respected and frequently used software company. Adobe Acrobat Reader is free to download.

When you purchase a digital downloadable item from our Interweave Store, you can download it by logging in to your store account. You have unlimited access, at any time, to your digital purchases.

Please follow these instructions:

    1. Click on “My Account” on the top right hand corn
    2. Sign in with your email and password
    3. Using the menu options of the left side of the screen, select “My Downloadable Products” to show your purchased downloads.
    4. Select the desired download and use the link beneath the Product title.

*Please note, to download and save your purchase to a computer do the following:

Use the following instructions (either Windows or Macintosh) to save a PDF file to your computer’s hard drive. Saving a file not only permits you to keep it for as long as you wish, but it also allows you to open the file much faster than you can in your web browser. Reference above for “How do I download my purchase?” to find out where and how to download your purchase.
For Microsoft Windows users:

  1. If you’re currently attempting to download the file, click the stop button on your browser.
  2. Right-click the link to the PDF file, and then click “Save Target As” (Internet Explorer) or “Save Link As” (Firefox, Chrome).
  3. Specify the location on your computer where you want to save the file, and click the Save button.
  4. The File Download dialog box opens, and a progress bar allows you to monitor the download process.
  5. After the file is saved, click the Close button in the File Download dialog box.
  6. To open the file stored on your computer, double-click it (the Adobe Acrobat Reader will begin running automatically).

For Macintosh users:

  1. If you’re currently attempting to download the file, click the stop button on your browser.
  2. Hold down the “Ctrl” button and Click the mouse on the link for the download, and select “Download Linked File As” (Safari) option. If you have a two
  3. button mouse just simply right click on the link for the download.
  4. Specify the location on your computer where you want to save the file, and click the Save button.
  5. The File Download dialog box opens, and a progress bar allows you to monitor the download process.
  6. After the file is saved, click the Close button in the File Download dialog box.
  7. To open the file stored on your computer, double-click it (the Adobe Acrobat Reader will begin running automatically).

For iPad users:

  1. If you have already attempted to download the file please skip to instruction 3 for the next step in the process.
  2. Select the download by using the touch screen to tap on the download link. The PDF file should load onto your iPad.
  3. Using the touch screen, tap the screen anywhere on the downloaded PDF document. This will bring up a tool bar listing the PDF title.
  4. Select “Open in iBooks” or select “Open in …” for other saving options. It will automatically save into iBooks. For other applications you may have to save the PDF manually.

If you are having issues with a PDF file, here are some suggestions:

You can delete the file and download it again, at any time, by logging into your store account at interweave.com

You may need to update your version of Adobe Reader to the latest version. You can do that for free by visiting this URL: http://get.adobe.com/reader/

If your computer is locking up, you see only a blank white screen, or you see strange symbols instead of regular text and graphics, please try saving the file to your computer.  Next, open Adobe Reader and open the downloaded PDF.

Printing is allowed for all our digital PDF products and the option should be enabled with Adobe Acrobat Reader and other PDF applications as well.  The print options should be straight forward and easy to use.  We do suggest using the “Pages to Print” options to allow you to select specific pages or patterns to print rather than printing a whole magazine or eBook.

Video Downloads


Video downloads are the digital version of our DVDs. We have a wide variety of titles that include workshops, instructional videos, and working through projects and patterns step by step. We have Standard and High Definition (HD) videos formats available for most of our titles.


Our videos are in the mp4 (MPEG-4 Movie) format which is the standard video file for most computers and media players. MP4 files will work with most computers and portable devices.

Occasionally, some of our video files are large enough that they have been zipped and you will need unzipping (compression) software to extract the file before it can be played. It will be referenced on the product page if the file has been zipped. You can find zipping software for free online using a Google search.

For best results, Interweave recommends that you play your video with either QuickTime 7 or the VLC media player.

Quicktime 7 is a free download provided by Apple and is compatible with PC and Mac computers.You can download Quicktime by going to: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

Note:  Quicktime is a free download.  Quicktime Pro is not necessary to view our products.

VLC is a free software that is programmed and operated by a reputable company. You can download it by going to www.videolan.org.

The difference between Standard Video and High Definition (HD) Video is the level of detail provided by the video which corresponds to the file size of the video.  Interweave Store provides both Standard and High Definition (HD) video downloads for your convenience.

Standard video downloads provide a similar quality you would receive with a DVD or standard television.  The file size is also significantly smaller averaging 900 MB for Interweave Standard Video downloads.

HDVideo downloads provide superior video quality similar to what is received with a Blu-Ray disc or HD television.  The file size is also significantly larger averaging 3.1 GB for Interweave HD Video downloads.  Due to the increased level of quality, HD Video downloads are more expensive than Standard Video downloads also.

Note:  Not all devices are compatible with HD versions. You will want to verify that the device you are attempting to play this on is compatible.

When you purchase a digital downloadable item from our Interweave Store, you can download it by logging in to your store account. You have unlimited access, at any time, to your digital purchases.

  5. After the file is saved, click the Close button in the File Download dialog box.
  6. To open the file stored on your computer by double-clicking on the file.

For Macintosh users:

  1. If you’re currently attempting to download the file, click the stop button on your browser.
  2. Hold down the “Ctrl” button and Click the mouse on the link for the download, and then select the “Download Linked File” option (Safari).  If you have a mouse with more than one button just simply right click on the link for the download.
  3. Specify the location on your computer where you want to save the file, and click the Save button.
  4. The File Download dialog box opens, and a progress bar allows you to monitor the download process.
  5. After the file is saved, click the Close button in the File Download dialog box.
  6. After the file is saved on your computer, you can open it by double-clicking on the file.

For iPad users:

For video downloads, Apple exclusively allows videos to be directly downloaded from the iTunes iPad App to the iPad.  All Interweave Store downloads will be downloaded using a Quicktime web application and not be saved to the iPad.

For customers who want to have their digital downloads saved to their iPad, Apple suggests the procedure of downloading videos to a home computer and then transferring (Syncing) to the iPad.  Here are the basic instructions:

  1. Download the video to a home computer, use the PC or Mac references to save a download to your computer as applicable.
  2. Use the USB cable to connect the iPad to your home computer.
  3. Open the video download with iTunes which will populate the video in the iTunes library.
  4. Transfer the video download to your iPad either manually or by using the command Sync on iTunes.
  5. After it is transferred, the video download should now be available on the Videos App on your iPad and available to use.

Please refer to your iPad manual or iTunes help support for more detailed instructions for your device.

We would recommend deleting any failed download attempts from your computer and trying again from your store account.  See “How Do I download my purchase?” for details on download instructions.

When downloading any of our products, we do suggest a “wired” connection (cable plugged into your computer) vs. a wireless or “wifi” connection.  This will often reduce download times and errors for video files especially larger files like HD Videos.

If you are concerned that you did not get the full file downloaded please reference the product web page for your item using the Interweave Store website.  It should have file size information as well as a Run Time count so you can use both as a reference to ensure that you have the full video.

eMags

Interweave’s eMags are an entirely unique product, separate from our print magazines.  Unlike Digital Magazines, which are exact replications of the print editions, eMags are developed as digital products to provide a multi-media experience, a digital environment that lets you see crafts and artists in action with all the finer details.

It includes videos, slideshows with zoom options that let you zero in on interesting details, patterns that can be downloaded and printed, links to useful information, products, and other interactive features.  We have developed eMags for Beading, Jewelry Making, Knitting, Mixed Media, Quilting, Sewing, and Spinning currently.

Our eMagazines are a composite of Video, Text, PDF files, galleries, links and more. Due to this, they are not PDF files but are either .exe for PC or .dmg for Mac. These file types download as software to your computer.

The reason we have two different versions for each eMag is each version is specifically created for the operating system.  For PC, files designated as “.exe” and are compatible with Microsoft Windows Operating system specifically to run as software.  For Mac, files designated as “.dmg” and are compatible with Apple’s Mac Operating System also to run as software.  The content is the exact same on both platforms.

The eMags sold in our online store are created specifically for PC or MAC computers. They are not compatible with the iPad. We do create eMags for the iPad, but these are offered through the iTunes App store and require a separate purchase. You can visit the iTunes App Store on your iPad and search for Interweave to see what is currently offered.

Please note sales and promotions that arefeatured on Interweave Store are not applicable to purchases on iTunes.  Prices on eMags sold through iTunes will not reflect Interweave Store sale prices.

To view this eMag, your computer needs to fit these requirements:

For PC:

• 2.33 GHz or faster x86 compatible processor

•512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)

For MAC:

• Intel® Core ™ Duo 1.83GHz or faster processor

• Mac OS X v10.6, 10.7, or 10.8

•512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)

Note: Mac computers with PowerPC processors are not supported, and the Mac edition of the eMag is not compatible with the Apple iPad or the iPhone.

eMags for iPad are exclusively sold through iTunes.

eMags are viewed using the program Adobe Air similar to PDF files requiring Adobe Acrobat Reader.  Adobe Air is a free download and will be installed in your computer along with the eMag.

When you purchase a digital downloadable item from our Interweave Store, you can download it by logging in to your store account. You have unlimited access, at any time, to your digital purchases.

Please follow these instructions:

  1. Click on “My Account” on the top right hand corner
  2. Sign in with your email and password
  3. Using the menu options of the left side of the screen, select “My Downloadable Products” to show your purchased downloads.
  4. When you click to download, your browser may ask whether you want to save the file orrun it.  Choose “Save.”
  5. If your browser asks you where to save the file, select a location that you can easily accesssuch as your desk-top. Some browsers save down-loaded files into a default folder.
  6. Next is opening the installer.  Double-click the icon for your eMag.   Please be patient as it may take several minutes for the installer topopup on your screen.
  7. Once the installer opens, you will see a few different options on the screen. We recommend that you leave all these settings at their defaults. Please make a note of where your eMag application will be installed on your computer. By default, this will be in a folder named “Interweave eMags” inside the either “Program Files” folder for PC or the “Applications” folder for Mac.
  8. Once you click “Continue,” the application will install on your computer. This may take several minutes. Once the installation iscomplete, the eMag application should automatically start. The eMag should be open on your screen now.

Our eMagazines are a composite of Video, Text, PDF files, galleries, links and more. Due to this, eMags are either “.exe” for PC or “.dmg” for Mac.  Security software depending on your specific settings will consistently issue a warning when downloading these file types from any source no matter how reputable.

Your security program is protecting you from a download that will make changes on your computer.  Our eMags are files that requireinstallation and will make updates to your system, but they are not harmful in any way to your computer.  You may need toallow your security software to download this file in order to use Interweave eMags.

Security software provide this as a precautionary measure to make certain the user is aware of what they are downloading and to verify it is from a reputable source.  Our eMag, when downloaded and installed, will not harm your computer.  Interweave strives to keep our files secure and free from harm especially with our eMags.

All text content and illustrations of eMags can be printed.  Obviously, video and audio content are excluded from this feature.  For instance, you’ll want to print the materials lists to take with you the next time you go to your local craft store.  eMags enable a single page to be printed at a time.

Click on the “My Account” link at the top right hand side of our site. Enter your email address, select the “No, I am a new customer” link when asked for your password and hit the sign in button. You will then be directed to the registration page where you submit your information, create a password, and click to become a registered site member. You can also become a site member when you make any purchase on the site.

Auto-Ship Program

The Auto-Ship Program is a great way for customers to receive some of our popular magazines, such as Knitscene, Stitch, and Studios. No more having to search for them at the store or trying to remember to go online for a new issue every few months.

Auto-Ship is an issue by issue program that works like a subscription but instead of paying for a limited subscription term up front, you pay for each issue as it is published and the programs continues until you choose to cancel. You will receive free shipping for the United States and Canada. International orders have a $5.00 shipping charge.

Coupon Codes

Coupons are a benefit for our customers and subscribers, but are not necessary to make a purchase. Following your first purchase we will deliver exclusive store specials to your e-mail.

You can enter your code in the box labeled ‘Discount Codes’ when you are viewing your Shopping Cart. Type in the code as it appears in your email and click the orange “Apply Coupon” button. The page should refresh and reflect applied discount on your order.

Please make sure that the coupon code is typed in exactly as it is shown — there should be no spaces between letters and numbers. For example, a code of SAVE20 will not apply if it is typed in as SAVE 20.

Please note, you can only apply a single Coupon Code per purchase.

If a discount is not applied, but it is put into the coupon code box correctly, then the coupon is not applicable. Please refer to the email for details surrounding the coupon code to ensure you are within the purchasing guidelines. Also, most codes can only be used once and do not apply for new releases, iTunes purchases, third-party items, pre-orders, back-orders, magazine subscriptions auto-ship programs, kits, and ultimate collections.
