Beadwork IV:
The Beaded Figure

Thanks to the 169 artists who submitted entries—the creative range and diversity is wonderful!

Beadwork’s largest juried show to date, The Beaded Figure attracted 169 entries from as far away as New Zealand, Japan, and Italy. The jurors, Janet Kay Skeen, Connie Lehman, and Dustin Wedekind, had the bittersweet task of choosing 50 pieces to be a part of the traveling exhibit. The figures range from dolls and puppets to bugs and puppies, and entries broached subjects from nature to nurturing, hope to healing.

The jurors chose Kym Longhi’s Eternally Yours as “Best in Show” for its dynamic motion and expressive features. A feature on the juried exhibit will be included in the February/March 2005 issue of Beadwork (available January 31) .
