“I was an art major in college and loved art history. I especially liked looking at all the old paintings and statues and studying the jewelry depicted in them. I was floored by the opulent jewels worn by Russian royalty and dreamed of owning such pieces. This bracelet was done with a variation on Kathy Rice’s ‘Diamond Chain.’ I learned how to do it in a single row, but after a ‘what if’ moment, I taught myself how to adapt it to multiple rows. I then further embellished a few segments to give the piece a more three-dimensional look. I call this cuff ‘Topaz Tzarina’ because it reminds me of a bracelet a tzarina would have worn.”
