Shape left triangle: (see Note) (RS) K3, k2tog, work 41 (46, 51, 56, 61, 66) sts in patt, ssk, k3, place next 51 (56, 61, 66, 71, 76) on holder–49 (54, 59, 64, 69, 74) sts rem on needle.
Row 1: (WS) K3, work in patt to last 5 sts, p2tog, k3-1 st dec'd.
Row 2: (RS) K3, k2tog, work in patt to last 5 sts, ssk, k3–2 sts dec'd.
Rep Rows 1 and 2, moving lace panel markers as necessary, until 28 (30, 32, 34, 36, 38) sts rem, then dec on RS rows only until 8 sts rem. Knit 1 (WS) row.

Shape right triangle: (see Note) Place held sts onto needle. With RS facing, rejoin yarn and work as foll: (RS) K3, k2tog, work even in patt to last 5 sts, ssk, k3–49 (54, 59, 64, 69, 74) sts rem.
Row 1: (WS) K3, ssp, work in patt to last 3 sts, k3-1 st dec'd.
Row 2: (RS) K3, k2tog, work in patt to last 5 sts, ssk, k3–2 sts dec'd.
