Trendy Jute Baskets

Ideas:

Larger baskets are great to put your toilet rolls in and look great in any bathroom.
Your nail bits and pieces can fit in the smaller baskets and you can match the colors to you room.


Materials List
Tools: 5mm crochet hook, darning needle.

Yarn: Jute string 120m pack depending on your size 2 x 120m for large size 1 x pack for smaller sizes

Bernat Handicrafter: Cotton 100g white x 1 ball double thickness used

Ch = chain

Dc = double crochet

SC = single crochet

St = stitch

Sl = slip stitch

Large size Basket 28cm diameter – 22cm height

Chain 4, join with SL into first chain to form a circle. Ch 3, (count this as your first DC) DC x 11 more into circle, SL ST into top of first ST to join = 12 ST

ROUND 1

CH 3 DC x 1 into same stitch repeat DC x 2 into all ST’s around SL into top of first ST to join = 24 ST

ROUND 2

CH 3 DC X 1 into same ST, DC x 1 into next ST, DC x 2 into Next ST, repeat all way round SL into top of first ST to join = 36 ST

ROUND 3

CH 3 DC X 1 into same ST, DC x 1 into next ST, DC x 1 next ST, DC x 2 into Next ST, repeat all way round SL into top of first ST to join = 48 ST

ROUND 4

CH 3 DC X 1 into same ST, DC x 1 into next ST and next 2 ST, DC x 2 into Next ST, repeat all way round SL into top of first ST to join = 60 ST

ROUND 5

CH 3 DC X 1 into same ST, DC x 1 into next ST, DC x 1 into next 3 ST, repeat all way round SL into top of first ST to join = 72 ST

ROUND 6

CH 3 DC X 1 into same ST, DC x 1 into next ST, DC x 1 into next 4 ST, repeat all way round SL into top of first ST to join = 84 ST

SC into each ST around and repeat to desired height (18 rows for this pattern) Once you have reached your height change to Cotton yarn double the yarn to crochet SC x 1 into each ST repeat 8 rounds. You can fold the top of the yarn to create a rolled finish.
