Easiest Crochet Shawl Ever
by Kika Robinson
This was a one-day project for designer Kika. (Hint. It can be a one-day project for you, too.) She couldn’t find a pattern for a triangle shawl that she liked, so she took matters into her own hands. Don’t you want to take this matter into your own hands, too? Hook on.
- Two balls of Luxury Mohair by King Cole (202m/220yds, total), colour Valencia.
- A big fat plastic hook, size Q (16mm).
I did the entire thing with sc in the front loop only, but I am pretty sure it would work for any stitch you like.
Make a chain as long as you want the shoulder part to be. I made a chain that is about 66″ (168cm) long.
Starting in the second ch from hook * decrease in the first two stitches at the beginning of the row, sc across, decrease in the last two stitches, ch 1, turn. Repeat from * until you’ve run out of stitches (at the point of the triangle).
This one ended up being 66″ (168cm) long by 32″ (81cm) wide at the bottom point. There was enough yarn left over to make two hefty tassels which I love.
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
