INTERACTIVE MEDIA
Interweave Press has an extensive Internet network of more than 30 websites, including some of the most popular craft enthusiast destinations on the web. Each magazine has its own branded website, such as InterweaveKnits.com, LapidaryJournal.com, and QuiltingArts.com, and the company also operates and owns websites for its events and television shows. In 2007 Interweave Press launched two new online communities, KnittingDaily.com and BeadingDaily.com, which bring together the best content from the company’s magazines and TV shows with free e-newsletters, how-to articles and patterns, podcasts, and an emphasis on community. These new websites are actively promoted across all the Interweave Press properties including the magazines and the TV shows.
BROADCASTING
Interweave Press’s parent company, Aspire Media, acquired in 2007 the PBS television show, Needle Arts Studio, which is public television’s only needlearts television program; it is carried in 157 markets and distributed to 55 million households nationwide. ASPIRE also announced in 2007 the development of the PBS Quilting Arts television show, which will begin broadcasting in 2008 and will feature the best of content developed from Quilting Arts magazine. With its acquisition of Needle Arts Studio and the development of Quilting Arts television show, ASPIRE created the critical fifth leg to its platform, making the company truly a multiplatform media business.

INTERWEAVE produces several major events for fiber and bead, gem, and jewelry making enthusiasts, including the Spin-Off Annual Retreat, Bead Expos, and Bead Fests in locations across the country, attracting thousands of consumers and industry manufacturers and advertisers.
